Amanda Overmyer and the Cubs

Went to the Cubs game last night…. and right in front of us was the American Idol contestant: Amanda Overmyer. We chatted, and had fun, but we didn’t really bug her. She was SOOOO busy with fans coming up to her asking for autographs that we thought it would be kinda tacky to do the same. So instead, we just papparazzied her and got this snapshot (with Cubbies in the background). A beautiful night at Wrigley Field, and the Cubs won (again). Actually, to tell you the truth, Eric G knew exactly who she was, and had to enlighten me. But it’s all good…. we had fun watching the home team hit homers out of the park. Go Cubbies, Go Idols!

Great Lakes, Great Waves

Just listening to some of the weather forecasts that are blowing through the Chicago area this weekend and heard something quite interesting about the water levels in the Great Lakes. Back in June 26, 1954, a tidal wave hit Lake Michigan. Actually it was a seiche. A seiche is sort of like a tidal wave, but the water just builds after winds and air pressure make a ‘great’ lake ebb and flow. This seiche ended up hitting Chicago, and was 10 feet high. The water level raised after it rushed back from the other side of Lake Michigan, and surged 10 feet, into the city.  One article I read noted the lake surged 1 1/2 miles into the city.  Tonight, the news says the lake level is already down 2 feet. Lake goers, pay attention. NOAA and GLERL help you track the troubled waters. Don’t mess with Mother Nature, and hey, take it easy out there!

BSG Recap ==> “The Hub”

What happened during tonight’s Battlestar Galactica episode [ The Hub ] ?   Jump, Jump, Jump, nayabingy so the hybrid says. Rebels and good guys sneak attack. The Three is released from the Hub. Baltar blown up with his buddy Cylon. Roslyn tries to save him (and has visions of GranCylonJeur), but he bleeds out. But, he’ll live.  Roslyn is a Cylon…. just kidding…. and so is The Three.  Resurrection ship destroyed (now Cylons can’t come back). More visions, Roslyn and base ship comes back. Adama is waiting, lovey. By the time it’s over, 3 keeps the “5″ identities secret…. deception and double-dealing are alive and well, throughout the universe. Next time, the 4 reveal and Ty get’s a good ole’ whoopin by Lee “Apollo” Adama.    

 

A Full Mind Is An Empty Club

Think about it. Ahhhh, I see…. yes: A Full Mind Is An Empty Club.

Ronny S said something like this once, but it was about el biesbol. The main thing, clear your mind and you might just catch my drift. After you analyze it, contemplate your move and know what your gonna do, just go do it.  In my opionion, they are proufound words and can be applied to many areas of your life. Think about being in that place where the sun is out and the birds are chirping and think to yourself: “A Full Mind Is An Empty Club”.

Dropping the Elbow

Elbow-dropping 101

You may have heard this from my friend (Dwayne Johnson), since he is the one that first dropped the people’s elbow. I, however, have become most fond of the saying “dropping the elbow”. For the many, I wanted to quickly give you a rundown of Elbow-Dropping 101:

There are two types of people in the world: People who drop the elbow, and people who get the elbow dropped on them. Now, for those that get the elbow dropped on them, they should take a bit to smell what the rock has cooked over the years. Although there are two sides to the ‘elbow’, it’s cut and dry…. there is only one reason you get the elbow dropped on you…. because you earned it  

Simple, eh? If you can’t understand, then you deserve the elbow. I am more than happy to explain it to you, but until you really research and absorb the meaning…. then I drop this elbow on you!
